Betty is suffering from severe backache since December 2019. On 2 January 2020, Betty’s neighbor Sally came to visit. Sally suggested that Betty undergo an acupuncture treatment to cure her back. Sally also informed Betty that she is a certified acupuncturist and is well trained in acupuncture therapy for backache. The cost for the therapy is RM 10,000.00 for 10 sessions. Unfortunately, in reality, Sally has no certificate and never attended any training for acupuncture therapy. Believing the fact that Sally is a good acupuncturist, Betty sign up for 10 sessions. After two sessions, Betty suffered blood infection due to unclean needles used during therapy. Betty also discovered that Sally is not a certified acupuncturist had not attended any training on it. Betty want Sally to return her money. Betty's brother Atan, sold his hardware store to Ali on 15 March 2019. During the negotiation prior to the sale, Atan informed Ali that he was of the opinion that the hardware store's average monthly profit will be at least RM5,000.00 for the next 15 months. Relying on the statement, Ali agreed to purchase the hardware store. However, from April 2019 until now, the monthly profit of the hardware store has never exceeded RM300.00. Ali feels betrayed and want to avoid the contract.

Betty and Atan are preparing to launch a beauty salon in November 2020. They consulted Peter, a cosmetic supplier for advice. Despite knowing that the cosmetics sold by Peter are not approved by the Ministry of Health of Malaysia and contain mercury which could have a long-term impact on customers, Betty and Atan still agree to purchase them as the price is very cheap. After a while, Betty and Atan have a second thoughts about their purchase and decide not to go through with it.
