Activity 3: Color me with Coffee

Materials:

teaspoon coffee powder, 1 cup tap water and transparent drinking glass

Procedure:

1.Add teaspoon of coffee to a one cup tap water in a transparent glass.Do not mix.

2.Record *your* observation every 10 minutes within 1 hour.

B. Analysis 3

1.What happened to the coffee powder after it was added to the water?

2. When you add coffee to the cup of water, what do you notice? Did the particles of coffee spread out in water?

3. Is it the particles of coffee, the particles of water or both particles spread out and move? Why do you think so?
