Committee, you're striving to have your workplace get one of the upcoming Canada's Safest
Employers Awards that is organized by the Canadian Occupational Safety magazine, which
celebrate organizations across Canada for their commitment to maintaining a safe work
environment.
Your goal is to select one of the scenarios below and, in response to the situation listed in your
scenario, develop, and implement an innovative and awardwinning OHSA strategy for your
business. Your strategyplan should show that you are aware of have examined, and have
considered the risks and hazards that are unique to your workplace and industry.
As part of your strategy, elaborate how your plan will be carried out. This includes any policies,
health, safety, and wellness practices, training, motivational techniques, and integrated health

Scenario : Located in southwestern Ontario, your office is part of a large international
IT firm with a combined Human Resources and Occupational Health and Disability
Management team of fulltime experts. Although most of your coworkers are young

inexperienced or temporary workers who don't always practice safe work habits like
properly handling dangerous items.

regulated and unionized. As a member of a sizeable HR and wellness, and disability
management team, you assist a diverse group of workers. The majority of workers are in
