Their matrixed organization does not allow room for much cross-training, nor do they foster an environment that produces learners across divisions. They are a human resource and payroll processing giant in their market, and they have two major divisions for this work. They have their human resources processing division, and their payroll processing division. These are separate in both training and functionality. To improve this, ADP needs to reorganize their structure into a divisional simplified structure to allow learning across all divisions and empower employees to gain knowledge of more than just their roles and responsibilities. One of ADP's weaknesses is retaining talent, and to alleviate the pitfalls of this, cross-training by all employees on their platforms would help bridge the gaps in knowledge when a tenured employee departs. If ADP incorporated these changes, it would hit 3 out of the 5 key elements immediately and significantly improve efficiency and long-term strategies (2021, 2017)
