Agree or Disagree and Why?
Question: tasked with locating, reviewing, and sharing a critique of a survey, or a few questions and/or items on a survey, that assess one of three important areas ofmarketing research: 1) Customer Acquisition, 2) Customer Satisfaction, and 3) Customer Retention.Note: the last two, Customer Satisfaction and CustomerRetention, will probably be more feasible to study in thespan of an eight week term). Finally, please conductyour reviews/critiques in the context of key conceptsmentioned in chapter 3 of our text and in Beall's "Strategic Market Research."
Answer: I remember shopping or more like browsing a hardware website to purchase the items at the physical store and came a across a customer satisfaction survey for the company website. The questions were geared towards the customer's website experience and not the products themselves. Makes sense, since it is a store that sells multiple products. The survey showed a progress bar at the top to help visualize the time burden. I normally exit out of them but in the name of research, I took some time to answer some questions. Questions within the survey were about overall website experience, reasons for visiting the website, successes or failures and reasons for not being satisfied in addition to demographic data questions. The questions had a variety of answer choices that ranged from yes/no, to specific answer choices.
A survey is a form of primary data collection (Ferrell, Hartline, & Joyner, 2014). The survey that was presented was more of a customer attitudes and expectations survey. These types of surveys generally seek customer expectations and attitudes towards products or the company with the intention of improving user experience as well as increase customer loyalty (Smith & Albaum, 2013).
I did not answer the survey truthfully or even finished it because the survey kept hanging up after every answer making it painful to go through, so I just clicked boxes to quickly get to the next question. This survey had some non-response errors for me not finishing the survey or answering truthfully but I did it for the research ;) (Daugene)
