Aldo, an adult college student, went to Brentwood Department store to buy clothes. He selected two new suits and a coat for $950 and asked to open up a charge account. The credit manager was willing to open account but was concerned about payment. Aldo told the credit manager to call Franco, his father. On the telephone, Franco told the credit manager. "Go ahead, open the account for him. It will teach him to stand on his own feet if he has to pay his own bills. But don't worry, if Aldo doesn't pay you, I will."
