All pharmacies and supplier companies follow the same procedure. Sales representatives visit pharmacies regularly to collect PQs. Once a PO is collected, the sales representative logs the PO and forwards it to an executive in the contracts department of their company. The executive then reviews the order to see if the PO is made under the standard contract terms or not. If the PO is made under standard contract terms, the executive approves the order and passes it to the sales department. A sales person then picks the items and logs the order and handover to a shipping agent for delivery. If the executive at the contracts department finds the PO is not made under the standard contract terms, the executive requests the legal department of their company to make necessary changes. Whenever, changes to contracts are made, the company attorney checks for legality of the process. If the company attorney is satisfied with the changes, the PO is returned to the executive for approval. The executive then approves and the usual procedure follows. If the company attorney is not satisfied with the changes made by the legal department, the PO is returned to the executive for cancellation who then instructs the sales representative to inform the pharmacy that the PO is rejected.
