Question
An induction motor has the following parameters: 460V (line to line), 100 HP, 60 Hz, 4-pole rs=rr=0.0425 ohm, Ls=Lr=23.33mH, Lm=22.57 mH, J=2 kg-m2 Rated slip
An induction motor has the following parameters:
460V (line to line), 100 HP, 60 Hz, 4-pole rs=rr=0.0425 ohm, Ls=Lr=23.33mH, Lm=22.57 mH, J=2 kg-m2
Rated slip sr=0.0177, rated stator current IR=109.5A, rated power factor:0.88
Determine the following :
(a) Stator Current in stator and rotor reference frames (Steady state)
(b) Rotor current (rotor windings shorted, Steady state)
(c) Average torque (rotor windings shorted, Steady state)
(d) Determine the maximum transient torque that can occur when the 100 HP motor is plug reversed (sudden reversal of the excitation phase rotation).
(Assume the machine is running in the steady state with rated load prior to the plugging and that the load torque is constant over the interval of interest. )
