An organization is holding a camp for kids over the summer. They charge a $500 non-refundable fee when you sign up. Due to COVID-19, the camp is no longer going to take place. Would it be unethical for the organization to choose not to refund its customers the $500 dollars, even though the event is not happening? I understand that they may be protected under the law from having to refund it because they specified that it was non-refundable, but I want to know if it would be ethical.
