Reflecting on some of the challenges the UUA is facing through our three system lenses, considering the organization's hiring controversy since 2017 (Walton, 2017a) and work within its diverse communities, the UUA should focus its efforts on strengthening their organizational culture through the natural system perspective. Due to the organization's divisional structure (Bednar, n.d.-c), while there are benefits in adapting to their external environment, there are several challenges through the natural system perspective including duplicative efforts with multiple departments functioning independently from each other, such as their Congregational Life and Ministries and Faith Development departments. One recommendation to solve this has already been in development through the implementation of the Mosaic Hub which was recommended through the Commission on Institutional Change's "Widening the Circle of Concern" report (UUA, 2022b).
