1. (20 points) Water in the Niagara River approaches the Falls at a velocity of 5.1 mile per hour. Niagara Falls is approximately 166 feet. Imagine that the Lobo Engineer is sneaking sneakily up behind the Evil Thermo Prof (ETP) and pushes the ETP into the water at the head of the Falls. Calculate: a) The velocity of the water at the bottom of the Falls b) The velocity of the Evil Thermo Prof at the bottom of the Falls To receive full credit for this problem, you must draw the system and surroundings, state the assumptions you have made, and show all of your work. 2. (30 points) 3.50 mol of an ideal gas with CR is initially at 65 C and 2.0 bar. The ideal gas is put through the following cycle: (1) Constant volume heating to twice its initial pressure. (ii) Reversible, adiabatic expansion back to its initial temperature. (iii) Reversible isothermal compression back to 2.0 bar. Please draw the P-V diagram of the entire cycle. Then calculate Q, W, AU, and AH for each step (i,ii,iii). Please show your steps clearly
