Applications:

IBC receives 4,400 applications from Potential hosts per annum on average. IBC usually receives 2,750 applications from students per annum, of which 80% are successfully matched. A set of outsourced reference checks for a Potential host costs $500.

Staff: HAOs are paid $60,000 per year. They typically work 220 x 8 hour days per annum (excluding any sick leave). There are 6 HAOs. HAMs are paid $90,000 per year, on the same basis as HAOs. There is 1 HAM. HAOs work is sufficiently complex to require 11 days of dedicated training every time a new HAO is appointed. Due to a heavily manual and repetitive process, there is a 50% turnover in HAOs every year.

Storage: IP-U has dealt with so many applications over the years that it is now contemplating hiring a storage container to keep all its paper files. Having received quotes, this will entail a one-off $5,000 setup fee, and $2,000 in annual costs to maintain the container.
