Even though life was better in America compared to a third world country, there were still struggles that were faced. At first, the family settled into an apartment; however, as the economy went downhill, the family was forced to move into our father's warehouse that was mainly used for work. Even though the idea of a warehouse sounded like a big struggle, Tam said it was better than any house he lived in Vietnam. Even the restroom and water was cleaner, and there was always hot water available. He whole-heartedly appreciated the resources available to everybody in America
