Assessments play different roles in leadership. Assessments can be used as a leader to assess one's strengths and identify one's weaknesses, in order to keep improving upon one's skills as a leader. Assessments can be utilized to provide guidance when considering career goals, they can help to self-reflect on areas that need attention, and they can help to guide what leadership trainings an organization may need (IMD, 2024). There is a concept called Data-Driven Decision Making (DDDM) that focuses on utilizing data, numbers, and facts to make decisions, especially in roles of leadership, rather than opinions and feelings. Using DDDM helps organizations and leaders ensure that they are making decisions that will truly benefit their employees and the goals of the organization, rather than just what might seem to be to the benefit of the company but could actually be the opposite. DDDM helps leaders to apply informed strategic planning (Mucci, 2024). I believe that data will influence my leadership style as I prefer to see what I'm working with laid out in front of me. If I need to make a decision that impacts those beneath me, I specifically want feedback compiled into clear data that will help me to make an informed decision. I want to make sure that I will be making decisions that benefit those that will be impacted in a beneficial way, not just in a way that seems to me that it would be beneficial
