The particles in the gas all have the sarne diameter and their concentration in the gas is uniform. The overall collection efferency of the combination of two cyclones, which is the same as the individeal efficiency of each of the fwo cyclooes, is 70 percent. Now, because of a valve blockage, the flow rates to the two cyclones are perturbed so that f of the flow goes to one of them and f of the flow goes to the other. The total Alow is unchanged. (This change will naise the pressure required to drive the gas, but that is of no concern for this problem.) The two strearns leaving the cyelones are joined and mixed. What is the overall collection efficiency for the two cycloses in parallel under these conditions
