Case study: The CEO of Project Management Professionals Pty Ltd has been in talks with the management of the recently reorganized Southern Golf Group (hereafter known as 'the Customer') regarding initiatives to modernize facilities, introduce new capabilities and update infrastructure across their Australian holdings. In particular, the Customer wishes to implement a new Visitor Management System to improve the running of their golf courses and help with merchandising. Believing their organisation to have a number of unique aspects, they have decided to have this application built from the ground up. PMP has been contracted to provide preliminary planning for this work.

Budget vs Time: Although an initial budget of AUD$1,000,000 has been allocated to the VMS project the Customer Managing Director has emphasized that money is less important than quality - they can always allocate further funds to do the work (if justified) but the VMS must be fully developed, tested and assessed as problem-free prior to acceptance. Approval and handover of the final system is currentlyanticipated for October 2022.

TASK: Major stakeholders of the project should be identified. These ultimately determine if the project issuccessful or not. A matrix of their roles in relation to the project, ability to influence its operation andexpectations of project deliverables should be created. Also, produce a matrix of how communicationwith key individuals/groups will be managed, by whom, how often, using what media, etc.

Deliverable: Stakeholder Matrix and Comm Matrix.
