Bob purchased a new cell phone made by the company Sprintz from the Cell Phone Store. Immediately after the purchase, Bob activated the phone and got into his car to drive home. As he drove, his cell phone buzzed with a text message. Bob picked up the phone, and the phone exploded as he tried to read the text message. Due to the force of the explosion, Bobs car drove into Carla, a pedestrian, who was about to enter a hardware store whose store owner forgot to pick up a shovel that he left on the sidewalk in front of his store. Bob suffered burns to his face that required surgery, which ultimately prevented him from returning quickly to his job as a male model. Carla suffered a broken leg.
