Describe why the variables you selected are important to your consumers. How do these variables influence decisions they make when making choices in your product category? Though the price and quality of the product are the best deciding factor, caffeine and sugar are important to consumers who take note on how much sugar intake they need to consume. People who are health and calorie conscious take these variables as their key components when making choices. Pepsi and Dr. Pepper are placed closely together meaning that there are significant variations in the amount of sugar in the soft drinks produced by its company. 2. Describe the \"ideal\" position you selected against these 2 variables and why brands should strive to achieve this position. The ideal position for caffeine and sugar intake would be in lower right section. According by the Canadian Press {2017}, the average youth, aged nine to 18, drinks 578mL of sugary drinks a day, which can contain up to 64 grams of sugar, putting them well over the recommended daily sugar maximum of 10 percent of total daily calories. Coca cola is the ideal brand, even if it is placed in less caffeine and high sugar, coca cola has 33.9mg of caffeine and 33.9g of sugar while Pepsi has 38.9mg of caffeine and 41g of sugar. Coca cola has lesser sugar and caffeine than the other competitors. While Red bull has 110mg of caffeine and 37g of sugar, the intake of sugar is less but the caffeine is too much which consumers prefers a much balanced of caffeine and sugar. 3. If your brand is not in the \"ideal\" position, what recommendations do you have that will help it achieve this position? If it is already in the ideal position describe what it needs to do to maintain this position. Coca cola is currently in a nice position. Considering the caffeine and sugar of our brand, the price and quality is amazing compared to other brands. Coca cola has remained consistent with simple slogans such as \"enjoy\" and \"happiness\". It has different variations of soft drinks, like a sugar free drink and flavored drink. According to James Foster {2021), the Coca cola classic is the world's most popular caffeinated soft drink. To stay in this ideal position, Coca cola needs to maintain their product as it is. Coca cola has different kinds of drinks that people would enjoy. If they started to make products that has more sugar and caffeine, it would lower the interest of consumers who are conscious their health. I References: IvyPanda. (2020, August 14).
