Can you please assist me in providing me a better description of this process. I found it was 7 degrees of freedom when I input the data into SPSS. Can you let me know how I might be doing this process incorrectly and what it should look like on SPSS?

Then subtract one from the five columns and one from the eight rows and multiply the two sums. In this design the degrees of freedom is XX. Use an alpha level of .05 or a 95 percent confidence level to find the critical value on the Chi-Squared distribution table. For XX degrees of freedom the critical value is approximately XX.XXX. If the absolute value of the test statistic is greater than the critical value, the null hypothesis is rejected.
If results are significant, it would infer that the null hypothesis is rejected. This means that social media companies, who have been proven to collaborate and take orders from the U.S. If the null hypothesis is accepted it would imply that social media is either not as persuasive as hypothesized or social media companies are not actively attempting to mediatize propaganda and sway the population's social conscience.
