My home network consists of many devices, naturally in the age of Internet of Things (IoT), even the smallest devices can connect to a network. My home network is powered by Cox, and the modem is stationed in my room near the center of the house. Not only does this provide the best average connection throughout the whole house, this also allows for easy Ethernet access to my personal desktop. Most of the devices on our network are smart devices, think cellphones, watches, laptops, but we do have other devices like a smart Samsung TV in the living room that we often use to watch football games. We also have a printer that connects wirelessly to the Wi-Fi so that any device connected to our network can print to it. The modem itself is connected to a coax connection on the wall that runs all throughout the house to provide a network connection, we unfortunately do not have fiber in our area. I also manage some specific devices on our home network, my younger brother developed a habit of playing late night on his Xbox and not being able to wake up the next morning. So using the Cox app, I can set a time for the Xbox to be paused and un-paused on the network to prevent it from being used online. This worked quite well as you cannot do very much on the Xbox without some sort of connection and his habit of playing late night has started to fade away.
