After researching Japanese Management Methods, I found several differences between Japanese and U.S. practices rather interesting. The main takeaway difference between the two countries' accounting practices is that Japan spends much more focus on managerial accounting than financial accounting. This is shocking because the U.S. spends much more resources on financial accounting and analyzing a company's past transactions. There is also the difference in when and who in each country can utilize management reporting. There is also a clear difference in goals when it comes to the longevity within companies in each country. Japanese management methods include trying their utmost to satisfy customers better than the competition in the hope of creating a reliable and reputable company that is forged on relationships and respect.
