Case Reporting Lab

The Case Reporting Lab is a case analysis report writing exercise. You are only required to complete 1 of the 2 scenarios below. They range from easy to hard. The killer case is an examination it for any illegal activity that may have been done. The second case is to determine if the death of Jill Smith was an accident or was foul play involved. For both scenarios, you have a search warrant to explore any direction you see fit. This practical is more about getting experience writing a forensic report; however what you find is important. You should write your report with me as the judge and within your forensic report prove to me the guilt or innocence of said suspects.Remember, a forensic report is not about opinions; it is about facts and facts only. Remember, you are not telling a story, you are reporting on facts that you have discovered and can prove.

Here is anold academic report=of mine that you can use for a template. Your report does not have to be this technical or this long, this should serve as a formatting example. In case you don't know, in academic forensic reporting, pictures of dogs represent adult pornography and pictures of kittens represent child pornography which is done for obvious reasons as opposed to using actual (illegal) contraband. Feel free to design the report as you see fit but think organized and professional. Do this as if it is your job.

This report will be due during week 8 so you have 2 weeks to complete it. I suggest not waiting for the last minute or trying to compete the report in one sitting. Work some along the way, note your findings and come back to it. In this report follow proper forensic procedure for digital evidence.
