Case Study 2: UNISA- Graduate School of Business Leadership (GSBL) Summer Concert You are a member of the University of South Africa (UNISA) Student Representative Council (SRC) entertainment committee. Your committee has agreed to sponsor a Summer Concert. The motive behind this concert is to offer a safe alternative to Heritage Weekend. Heritage Weekend is a summer event organised through GSBL in which students from the greater UNISA engage in heavy partying. Traditionally during the last 30 years this occurs during the last but one weekend in September. Unfortunately, the partying has a long history of getting out of hand, sometimes leading to fatal accidents. After one such tragedy last summer, your committee wants to offer an alternative experience for those who are eager to celebrate the change in weather and the pending year end examinations which will usher in end of the University academic year. You have just finished a preliminary scope statement for the concert project (see below). You are now brainstorming potential risks associated with the project. TASKS: (a) Identify potential risks associated with this project (use an appropriate method). Come up with at least 10 different risks. (b) Use a risk assessment form to analyse identified risks. (c) Develop a risk response matrix to outline how you would deal with each of the risks. PROJECT SCOPE STATEMENT Project Objective: To organise and deliver an eight-hour concert at FNB Stadium at a cost not to exceed R 700,000 on the last Saturday in September.
