Cash Book with Cash and Discount Columns Transactions are entered in the cash column of this book as it is recorded in the single column cash book. If discount is allowed on receipt of cash or cheque, it is entered in the discount column on the debit side. On making payment to a credit in cash or cheque any discount allowed by him is entered in the discount column on the credit side. The discount columns are only totalled and not balanced.
