Check the assumption of linearity of the log odds of being seen with the explanatory variable weight. This check can be accomplished by finding the quartiles of weight and creating a new variable, say Q_Wgt, with four categories: 1 those less than or equal to Q1; 2 those greater than Q1 but less than or equal to Q2; 3 those greater than Q2 but less than or equal to Q3, 4 those greater than Q3. Find the quartiles in the Explore procedure. Then create the new variable in the transform menu (compute variable) of SPSS, or using the Recode menu. I will go over this in class. Once the variable Q_Wgt is created, you then construct a contingency table of Q_wgt by SEEN. Put Q_wgt in the rows of the table the only output should be the counts
