1.Tag: Identity 1.1 - Feeling safe, secure and supported : When children feel safe, secure and supported through relationships and play, they grow in confidence to explore and learn.
1. Building strong relationship
a. Introduction to OBSERVATION:
Introduce the background to the story, explain WHY this experience has come about. You could do this by:
Making links to the weekly program, to the goal/s for the child, or the projects taking place within the room. Making a connection to the way you have set up the environment or provocation. Explaining what you know about the child; their knowledge, strengths, interests or culture. Describing a spontaneous moment you observed that you feel links to the child's goal/s.
- as a part of our curriculum, educator give out instructment toys to play and sing ' The Wheel on the Bus' song. Lee was invited to play instructment and sing along. She was not quite interested in playing instructment but still join the group stay until the song finished.
b. Body:
What did you observe?
Include: the child's actions, gestures/facial expressions, the child's voice, questions you asked or prompts you gave, the child's disposition, interactions with other children/educators.
- after given instructment toy to play, Lee was given and did grab it but she not showing interest and throw without playing or put the toy in her mouth, but stay until the song finished, we can see that she like being with peers.
c. ANALYSIS of Learning:
What has this experience told me about what, and how, the child is learning?
Record what you recognise about the child's learning and development in relation to their goals. The EYLF is very helpful for this as the learning outcomes give you the words to use to make the learning visible for families. They are designed to be holistic so there will often be links to several learning outcomes, however you only need to make a link to ONE learning outcome.
- lee would not be interest but still showed his social with peers and educators. Stay until the song is finished. She does like the instructment toy to shake, put the toy in her mouth but when ask to play and sing a song but would throw or put the toy in her mouth.
d. PLAN - Where to next?
What are your intentions for further learning? What strategies and experiences will you provide? When will this occur?
This section is where you plan for future learning in response to what you have noticed and the learning which is currently happening for this child. Think of ways to extend the experience to build on the child's interests or skills and extend their learning towards achieving their goals.
- We will offer Lee the opportunity to follow her interest in different activties, we will do "peek a boo sensory board' with group of children where she will be able to explore and engage with his peers, will also applied his connecting, touching, feeling and thinking skills she will potentailly also learn potentially. We will do this activity with lee 20/09/2023.
