Complete the Products and Services Setup

In this exercise, you will complete the Product and Services setup for Beautiful Blooms Floral Co$.$

Add a new category called Everyday Flowers and then add $($or upload$)$ the services for the Everyday Flowers category found in the CH$02$ Products & Services.csv file in your Chapter $02$ folder. Make sure all have the income account Everyday Flowers and Workshops assigned to them and the proper category as mentioned above.

You can either manually input these services or import them. Double$-$check the field mapping $($Hint: Tax on Sales$)$ and any red$-$marked items in the import and make any necessary corrections before clicking Import. Sometimes QTY shows red zeros, but this should not stop your import.

After importing, if you remain in the Import screen but the confirmation pops up$,$ that$$s OK; click X to close and then click Yes, and you should see your new items in your list.

Review the products and services you have just added. All items should have their sales tax code as HST ON and the category as listed above. If that$$s not the case, be sure to make any necessary corrections to each item.

Click the Export$($icon may look different$)$ button $($be sure to export from right in the List Settings menu, not the More menu in the Products and Services area$)$ and then save the file in your Chapter $02$ folder as: CH$02$ Products and Services List

When you export QuickBooks data to Excel, the resulting file will be in either the $.$xls or the $.$xlsx file format. $($In this case, you will likely get an $.$xls file.$)$ If your class is using Quick Grader, you must submit an $.$xlsx file or the autograding will not work. To change the file format in desktop versions of Excel $(2007$ and higher$),$ choose File$->$Save As and change the Save As Type to Microsoft Excel $(*.$xlsx$).$ In the online app, when you choose File$->$Save As$,$ the $.$xlsx file format is applied by default. Always pay attention to the format of exported files and resave to $.$xlsx when necessary. You won't always be reminded.
