Considering the historical information below, if an investor owned 100 shares of sun stock in December of 1987 and simply held the stock how many shares of stock did the investor own on January 2, 2008?

Sun Co has the following stocks over the years....

-Between 1988 and 2000 7 different 2-1 stock splits

-Without these splits Sun's stock price would have grown from $30 in 1988 to over $1,700 in 2000 which is a return of approx 40% per year

-in 2007 sun declared a 1-4 reserve stock split which boosted the price to $20

-in early 2009 stock prices sank to $3-$4 - in late 2009 Sun acquired Moon Co for $9.50 per share which would have only been $2.375 (9.50/4) if not for the reverse split in 2007
