My 20 years of experience working with and supporting children and family programs through a variety of roles focused on educating children and their families ages 0-parenthood. I am currently an adjunct lecturer for California State University, Sacramento. I also carry a diverse caseload with many low income families with a variety of race and ethnicities. This includes but not limited to: working with over 5 languages,working families in refugee programs, and I also have clients on my case load as part of their CPS court ordered requirements. My favorite role is supporting my own two children, ages 10 and 12, in their development. As a student centered, outcomes focused researcher, and advocate for early childhood education and children's development, I'm passionate about improving the quality of early childhood education and children's developmental outcomes through disseminating information to programs who support children and families. My career focus has been specifically working with children of underserved, diverse, and underprivileged groups. I have worked for and partnered with a variety of Federal, State and Locally funded Grants, as well as managed School District, City, State and County funding and programs.

I am highly knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices related to supporting children in meeting age appropriate milestones, developed curriculum for educating ages 0-lifespan, and have also lead, supervised, and trained staff, students, and parents in strategies pertaining to human development and education. I have held the license as Site Director for Tiny-Tots Parent Participation Nonprofit Pre-school, where I created and implemented curriculum, parenting work-shops, increasing the quality of programs on site. As a research assistant on the Federally Funded ABC Research Grant, I worked closely with our research team and Head Start pre-school programs, collecting data, while evaluating and implementing curriculum and instruction and providing timely and detailed instruction, data collection and grant reports. My career experiences and studies as an undergrad and graduate student in Child Development have prepared me with a strong knowledge base in children's social-emotional and cognitive development, age appropriate milestones in development, developmentally appropriate practices, Adverse Childhood Experiences A.C.E.S (the effects of and supporting development of people with those experiences into adulthood), infant and preschool learning foundations, quality assurance and environmental standards, and Common Core School Age Curriculum, aligned with State Testing Standards. I also have ten plus years experience with California Child Care Licensing regulations. As a Graduate Student, for my Research Project I provided Parenting Work Shops in Head Start Pre-schools, focusing on Father Involvement and the effects parents have on children's social-emotional development.
