I tend to agree that staffing technology dehumanizes the experience of applying for and interviewing with a company. It turns people into just another name on a resume, not an actual person. For example, fifteen years ago, or longer when someone was looking for a job, they would go around their city or town walk into businesses or corporate offices, and be seen by someone to apply for a job. The business was able to put a face to a name and get an idea of that candidate's personality and fit for the job and company. There is no way for a candidate to really stand out for a position when it's all done through an application or website and they don't actually get to talk to a real person until they possibly come in for an interview. It can be slightly disheartening for a candidate to continuously submit their resume through an app on their phone and not deal with anyone from the company that can answer any possible questions about the position.
