Create your own argument in favour of taking specific actions to mitigate the threat of global climate change. Be sure to present your argument clearly in standard form. Your argument should argue for what, specifically, you think we should do to combat global climate change. Your argument should include at least one sub-argument and at least five (5) premises in support of your conclusion. Should we, for instance, stop drilling for oil and gas; stop using petroleum-based products; recycle more often; plant organic gardens and farms; consult indigenous groups to begin living more sustainably; take the lead from poorer nations and those that have had less impact on global carbon emissions; all of the above, or something else entirely? Be thoughtful, creative and specific in what you argue for or against. It's always a good idea to provide sub-arguments to support any controversial premises you think need rational support. Also, be sure to clarify whether you think these actions you're arguing for should be personal lifestyle changes and up to individuals (for example, people should take fewer airplane trips); or whether they should be regulations enforced by governments or international treaties on private businesses and national governments. Be sure to define the "we" who you think should be taking action, and be sure to think through the consequences of what you're arguing for. Finally, try to make your argument as nuanced and strong as you can consider your audience (i.e. who you're making the argument to) and what views they might already have and how best to convince them that your position and conclusion is the best one to have. Avoid any fallacies!
