Dear Accounting and Financial Reporting Candidates,

Kindly read the following instructions very carefully to understand the project outline and instructions. The project is marked out of 20% of your total grade. Evaluations are conducted on the basis of the submitted project report along with the project presentation.

Outline

1- Create a group of 2-3 candidates and select a company of your choice. Companies have to be different among all groups. A course coordinator volunteer will kindly inform the instructor with the company names and group members by maximum lecture 8 on the 5th of July 2022 using the table format below.

2- Search and download financial statements (Balance Sheet and Income Statement) for that company for the most recent 2 years. Companies must be operating in Egypt and listed on the Egyptian Stock Market. Preferably use standalone statements instead of consolidated ones.

3- Calculate all the financial ratios for the 2 most recent years. You can use excel formulas or calculators to calculate the ratios.

4- In order to calculate the market measures, you will need market value data. You may need to search for the market value data online from Mubasher.info.

5- Once you are done with all the financial ratios, write a report about the financial position

of the company. The report should include the following:

a- An introduction about the company and its business nature.

b- All financial ratio formulas and calculations

c- Critical analysis of all financial ratios including comparisons between both years. Please write the analysis under each ratio

d- A final summary concluding the financial position of the company from your point of view taking into consideration the nature of the business and industry type.

Submission

You have three weeks to work on the project. Once you are done with the project you will submit the files on Moodle in the assignment created under week 9. You are required to submit the project report file as well as the original company financial statements. The deadline for submitting the project is Monday 18th of July 2022. The files you will submit should be named with your candidate names and company name. Only one member of the group should submit the files. Please note that no late submissions will be accepted.

All members of the group are required to present the work during lecture 9. The presentations will be held on Tuesday 19th of July at 6 PM. Each group will have only 10 minutes to present their work
