First one:

A. Consider your career area or future career area of interest, or pick an area of interest. Research PM and job opportunities.

The area of research I was looking at was the prediction of how the future of Project Management may turn out. I am less versed in project management, and I wanted to see how the future of this topic will continue. I also know that technology is always evolving, with new and better programs being released more often. The Project Management Institute (PMI) thinks that people who can communicate and lead will always be the main way for project management to continue. A person who can get along with others, regardless of ethnicity, race, age, or gender, will be the best leader. People who have the skill to deal with data will become an essential skill to have. What surprised me the most was that PMI thinks that the field of project management will not use AI. I know that many industries that are using AI, including ones that are not technology-based, are using AI to improve their work. During COVID, many people could not go to their workplaces. This caused companies to allow people to work from home. Working from home has helped companies realize that people can work remotely even after COVID-19. This allows companies to hire project managers and freelancers more easily.

B. Research skills that are in demand in the field of PM and list a personal inventory analysis

Many skills are needed to be a successful project manager. A person needs to be able to work with a team and listen to others. You can lead the team and get others to help; they need to be able to adapt to new plans and problems and also to resolve those problems. Projects can have tight deadlines, so you must be organized and manage your time wisely. There must be planning and scoping out the project. Must be able to have meetings with your team and separate work for each member. When it comes to me, I can work as a team and be able to adapt to the situation ahead. I do have issues with trying to manage my time on things. What surprises me is that you can have more than a handful of projects on the job. I know that project managers must do many projects and manage their time to get them in before deadlines. I did not know they could have ten or more projects simultaneously. An area that I wish to enhance is my leadership skills. I can easily work with others and adapt to how others work, but I still do not know how to lead others.

A1. My career of interest is Management, but more specifically, database administration. Data administration is related to PM because it is a task-oriented job, so PM can help organize which tasks come first.

B1. Some skills I saw were Leadership, Communication, time management, critical thinking, Adaptability, etc.

B2. Out of the short list of needed skills for PM, my weakness would probably be time management. Sometimes, I struggle with getting things done promptly and setting up a good schedule. However, I would say my strength is Adaptability. When things don't go as planned, I can quickly adapt and continue.

B3. One thing that surprised me was that Decision-making is an important skill. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. But it is not a skill I would have thought to name.

B4. Besides my time management, I would like to enhance my collaboration and risk management skills. I'm very shy, and I think I work best alone because when I work with someone else, I'm always afraid to share my ideas and plans because I get embarrassed by what others are going to think. So, by enhancing my collaboration skills, I can also increase my risk management skills because I will learn to realize that not everything goes as planned and that feedback doesn't always mean judgment.
