Deputy George was a likeable fellow who had grown up in Morehead and knew about everybody in town. One day he pulled into the BP at the foot of the Connector to buy himself a cold Ale when he ran across Steve, an old high school buddy, who was hanging out in the parking lot with a couple of folks George didn't know. George and Steve started swapping war stories about the game they won when they played football together at Rowan County, and the longer their conversation dragged on the more George noticed the two other guys standing there starting to get antsy. Steve noticed it too, and realized he'd never made proper introductions. "George," he said, "meet my friends Jake and Elwood." After a few more minutes of conversation Steve went into the store leaving George alone with the other two. While he couldn't put a finger on it George had a hunch something was up so he asked, "What did you say your names were, again?" Uh Nick and Johnny." With that, George demanded they show him some ID and with looks on their faces like they'd seen better days, the two men complied.
Realizing he probably shouldn't be conducting police business right in front of the store, George asked the men to stop over by their car, which was parked on the side near Jimmy John's. While he was calling the station to verify the men's identity, he looked down into the backseat of their vehicle and saw an open duffel bag stuffed with clothes with a few $ bills. Which would've been fine except the bills were a strange orangygreen color. George called for backup and when it arrived, officer searched the inside of the car and the trunk. When they popped the hood, sure enough, they found a brick of cocaine duck taped to the wall of the engine compartment.
True or false: George violated the men's Fourth Amendment rights when he asked to see their ID without being able to articulate any reasonable suspicion that they were committing a crime
