D.Explainthree key metrics that could be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the HR generalist's action plan.

PLS REFER THE BELOW DOCUMENTS TO HELP ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS;

SCENARIO:

The grant received by Anika's Animal Shelter (AAS) was written with a few specific goals, one of which was to add dog training services to the shelter's current program offering. The recently acquired grant will enable the shelter to hire three new full-time dog trainers to provide both group-level classes and in-home and community training for new dog owners and their adopted dogs (see "Dog Trainer Job Profile" section of the attached Supporting Documents). The job profile is a segment of the overall job description that needs to be developed for the role. Further, the grant was written with the appropriate expenses to allow the shelter to differentiate itself from other businesses. At least one of the dog trainers will be certified in dog training and behavior, pet first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Although there are no education or licensing requirements in Anika's state, Anika believes that hiring someone certified will encourage a solid stream of business. Dog trainers will need to be able to transport a dog and its owner to community parks, grocery stores, or other local places considered critical to the success of the dog/owner pair. Further, the trainers may provide elevated in-house training to the other workers and volunteers.

As the HR generalist for the organization, you realize that the dog trainer positions are a critical piece to the overall needs of the shelter, and the three-year timeline specified in the grant demands that you make this a high-priority project. Based on the challenge presented, you are tasked with partnering with the shelter manager to develop a general overview of the steps necessary to identify, engage with, onboard, and retain the new employees who will support the shelter's initiative. Refer to the following sections of the Supporting Documents to complete this prompt: Compiled Results of Focus Groups, Shelter Description, Organizational Chart, and Incident Reports

SUPPORTING DOC;

Compiled Results of Focus Groups

Applicable Tasks: 1, 2, and 3

Streamline operations

  • Hire someone to answer the phones.
  • Have more than two computers available in-house.
  • Provide clearer communication to the community:how and when to drop off animals, hours, what we do and do not do, etc.
  • Hire more staff so we do not have to work so much overtime and retain those employees. It is a lot of work to keep training new employees.
  • Question: "Could we use a pager system that lets people in the lobby know we are almost ready for them when we are busy or if we are doing curbside service?

Facilities

  • Expand to another location or make this one bigger.
  • Provide staff and volunteer lockers to keep personal items safe.
  • Provide a special room and brochures with available community services for owners grieving the loss of pets.
  • Create outdoor interaction areas (e.g., large grassy areas where potential owners can let dogs run).

Funding

  • Increase the board size and get additional people with influence.
  • Make the website better.
  • Try a variety of ways to get fundraising going. We do such great work!
  • Provide leashes, cardboard cat carriers, and catnip bags with our names on them.
  • Question: "What community events can we be a part of or create? For example, could we do an annual holiday sale in the parking lot where people donate things they do not want and the shelter gets the proceeds?"
  • Question: "How can we make sure not to lose our jobs in the future?"

Ideas for improved services and programs

  • Create a scholarship fund for low-income pet owners beyond low-cost spay and neuter services (e.g., short-term food and kitty litter assistance). Maybe they could work it off with volunteer hours.
  • Rescue animals in need (when the owner must abandon the animal due to health or death).
  • Provide a mobile adoption van for areas where transportation is a problem.
  • Create a community board at the shelter where people can share and post services (e.g., dog walkers, someone willing to dog- or cat-sitting, low-cost options for food or care)
  • Arrange for summer movie nights with your dogs (in our green space), sell tickets, have popcorn and treats, etc.
  • Provide lost-and-found pet services. (Drop them here, and we will try to find the owner.)
  • Accept more types of animals:bunnies, ferrets, etc.

Appreciation

  • Create company T-shirts
  • Question: "How can employees earn promotions?"
  • Provide medical insurance.
  • Consider providing tuition reimbursement so I could go to vet school.
  • Establish "bring your dog to work" days.

Shelter Description

Applicable Tasks: 1 and 3

  • Some cages are being held together with zip ties; there are misspelled words on animal kennels.
  • The facility has a drab color scheme.
  • The pace of some employees looks a bit chaotic, while others are slow.
