During the last few years JC Penney retail stores have experienced a significant decline in sales, a loss in market share and a decline in in store traffic. Your company has expressed concern on how to get customers back into the stores. We will present our findings to the members of your management team and work with them to outline a strategic marketing plan. We will then use the consumer data and outline to finalize the development of a long term marketing plan that will target previous JCP customers as well as reach new ones. HUEMBA will monitor the effectiveness of the implemented marketing strategy using our tried and true marketing analysis tools that allow for up to the minute monitoring. We will present our findings and schedule transition meetings for the implementation of the JC Penney business recovery plan. Time Plan Stage 1: Stage 1 of our plan will be to perform an analysis of the target customers. This will be divided into sub categories and is the foundation of our remaining goals for the project completion. This stage is will be broken up into three categorical assessments to be done concurrently: Market assessment, consumer assessment and product assessment. This stage should not exceed a completion deadline of 2 months. Stage 2: Stage 2 will be to develop a plan for business recovery. This plan has to use data collected and analyzed from stage 1. These steps will have to be strategic in nature and efficiently executed. This stage should not exceed a completion deadline of 3 months. Stage 3: Stage 3 of our plan will build from stages 1 and 2. Stage 4: Stage 4 will be the execution and review stage. Key Personnel The project will be executed largely by four HUEMBA consultants with the assistance of analysts as needed. Ms. Paskel will lead the project and ensure that the work is completed to your satisfaction. She has worked on similar projects with consumer goods companies in which she assisted in total business recovery. She will be assisted by Ms. McFarland and Ms. Couch who are experienced consultants in the area of marketing development and expansion. Finally, Ms. Fleming will assist as an experienced consultant in the area of consumer insights and an expert user of FindThem. The HUEMBA team will work alongside a core team comprised of a member of management from each of the departments within JC Penny. Costings We are a team of four senior staff partners. Our company bills on a weekly rate based on our experience, expertise, and project duration. Based on these criteria our estimated charges would be $8,320,000 (4 staff members x 40 hours per week x $1,000 hour x 52 weeks estimated project time). This cost is not inclusive of required JC Penny marketing, salary of JC Penny staff that will assist on the proposed project or any additional expenses incurred for the project execution
