(You provided an example but not a personal experience and one taken from another source). How I understand systems thinking: Systems are dynamic. Parts of a system are interconnected that leads to the emergence of something different than the individual parts. For example, 1+1 = 3 not 2. Systems are regulated by feedback loops that help guide a system in generating a particular response. Systems thinking requires us to look at things in a holistic and integrated manner. It requires us to realize that a change in one part of the system does not only change that part it also changes the causality of the entire system
