Consumer behaviour assignment The objective of the assignment is to broaden the understanding of consumer behaviour by interacting with customers. You have to find a person/s who has recently brought the products mentioned below and conduct an in-depth interview. The goal of the interviews is to understand the decision process involved in purchase of the product. The list of questions mentioned below act as a broad guide around which you can structure the interview. Based on the interview, you can develop a deep understanding of the purchase decision process and find the factors that determine why the customer acted the way he/she did. You can go through the slides of the consumer behaviour class before starting the interview. It is suggested to conduct interviews with a minimum of two members (ideally from different socio-economic backgrounds). Products: Product worth more than Rs.10000/ Product worth less than Rs.100/ General discussion questions: Who was the decision-making unit? Who brought the product? Identify all those who played a role in the decision process. What role dis they play? What motivated the purchase? What problems did the product solve? What functions would it facilitate?
