Domestic violence hurts everyone in the home. The pain that children feel while being abused, watching their mother and their siblings being abused is equally as painful as being ripped away from them when they are removed from the home. Being a victim of abuse and being shuffled around from home to home, I know first-hand the rejection, fear, shame, low self-worth, and guilt that sometimes can sting worse than the actual abuse itself.
