Communication is our vehicle to express how we feel and share our needs. If people demonstrate a disapproving attitude or words, this will limit a person's communication with others. Communicate what would benefit the person who is listening. Partners in relationships can say hurtful things to each other to feel relieved from their hurt. Parents can be critical of their children in the hope of directing them in the best way. Communication can be hurtful and destructive. Also, communication can be inspiring, comforting, and kind. The way we communicate with others can bring families closer or create division.
