The land adjacent to the Double JJ was owned by Fred Meijer, who was an older fellow, looking to retire and move away to an old folks' home. So one day, Tony Axton invited Fred to lunch at the Double JJ. During lunch, Tony mentioned that he would liketobuythelandandwonderedifFredeverthoughtofsellingtheproperty. Fredwasn'treally interested in selling the property but did like having lunch and was lonely. Tony continued to pressure Fred to agree to sell the property.
