Due to funds generated from an increase in sales tax, the City of Delamariona has decided to build a Sports Complex to compete with Nationwide Arena which is located in nearby Columbus. The new complex will have the seating capacity to host live performances of artists and also will contain an Olympic class ice rink that will be home to the city's recently purchased minor league hockey team franchise, the Comets, that will hold its games in this facility. The city has budgeted $250 million dollars from the sales tax revenues for this project and have already paid for and approved a completed design for the project created by a local architectural firm, Creative Design Consultants.
