During his arraignment, the U.S. Attorney asked to have Ziggy detained pending trial on the ground that no condition of release would assure the safety of the community or any person. The facts surrounding Ziggy's criminal activity were provided in previous Law Talk discussions. He has no prior arrests, no permanent residence/address, and the evidence they have against him came from (1) the DEA's electronic surveillance on the train and (2) the confession he made regarding the Messiah.
