We often are critical of a team's performance when in reality we should be critical of the estimating that created unrealistic schedules and budgets. This is not to say that those creating the schedules and budgets are not doing their due diligence. Estimating turns out to be one of the greatest challenges of project management and is an underpinning to successfully being able to complete projects on time and on budget. Within your teams discuss why estimating is so challenging.
