Each of you will describe a specific socialpsychological hypothesis (i.e., about human social thought, emotion, or behavior),
Question:
Each of you will describe a specific socialpsychologicalhypothesis (i.e., about human social thought, emotion, or behavior), and then describe a psychologicalexperimentto test that hypothesis. Carefully describe your operational definitions, but DO NOT label your independent and dependent variables! In other words, describe these variables in a very specific and detailed manner (how will you measure them, etc.) but don't put the labels on. Because then each of you will respond to TWO posts by other students and try to identify the IV and DV clearly.
Your responses also can talk about OTHER aspects of conducting a good experiment (e.g., avoiding confounding variables, different operationalizations, related experiments you could design, etc.). Be sure that your proposed experiment clearly conforms to thedefinition of an experiment, notanother type of research design! If it doesn't follow the definition of an experiment, you need to choose a new topic. In other words, some hypotheses simply can't be tested experimentally. If you still make this mistake, we hope that others will reply and point out the mistake so that everyone learns! Very important.
