Editing Pursuing Higher Education: Early Graduates vs. Adult Learners The pursuit of higher education is a transformative journey that individuals embark upon to broaden their horizons, acquire knowledge, and enhance their career prospects. Two distinct paths are often taken: enrolling in college as a recently graduated high school student or as an adult learner juggling a demanding career and familial responsibilities. Your introduction sets up the topic, so that is good, but how can your introduction be improved by having a better balance between abstract language and at least one specific introductory technique? What would be a creative way to capture the reader's attention and set up the topic? It is good to use multiple techniques (ex. introductory anecdote and compelling question). For high school graduates, enrolling in college immediately after obtaining their diploma is a natural progression. This path offers a seamless transition from the structured environment of high school to the academic rigors of higher education. Early graduates often benefit from a supportive network of peers in a similar age group, sharing similar aspirations and challenges. Would it be good to include some concrete and specific examples to create a better balance between the abstract language to state your ideas and the more descriptive examples to support those ideas?
