Error: unexpected symbol in "lm(df) fit" in R

I am trying to run a linear regression model in R Studio and this is my code:

lm(df) fit <- lm(y ~ x1+x2, data=df) summary(fit) ggplot(df, aes(x=x1, y=y)) +geom_point() + geom_smooth(method=lm) predict(fit, df[41:60, ], interval=prediction, level=0.95)

I keep getting this error message as a result and I cannot figure it out....

Error: unexpected symbol in "lm(df) fit"

Am I missing punctuation somewhere or is it something else?
