Data from a laboratory experiment on a two-input, two output system is given in the Excel File LABDATA.xls that is posted on the CMS site for ChE F315. You will see that the data has been sampled from the system once every 0.2 minutes (once every 12 seconds). You can ignore the first 375 data samples as they represent the start-up phase of the equipment.
Use MATLAB's system identification toolbox to identify models for this process based on the dataset given. You must provide the model parameters and plots of the dynamic responses for the different input-output pairs as part of this work.
You must identify at least two types of models. For example, two from: state space models, transfer function models and process models. This is to let you explore the system identification toolbox better.
Exercise 2[50 Marks]
Data from an experiment conducted by a friend on a pilot scale process in a Malaysian petrochemical company is given in the Excel file MalaysiaRefinery.xls which has been uploaded into the CMS. Determine the process models and express them in continuous transfer function form. You must clearly justify your model choice. Feel Free to choose your own validation and test data sets.
