An lT or anization has established a PMO - The PMO reviews and approves Project Charters that are submitted by various departments within the business who would like to sponsor an IT project. In addition, the PMO receives the charters of IT projects that are linked to initiatives within the business strategic plan. The PlVlO prioritizes the Project Charters and based upon available resources, determines when each project will be initiated. At the time of project initiation, the PMO assigns a Project Manager from within the PMO who is then responsible for planning and executing the project.
