Job simplicity and job rotation were noted when two key employee engagement/retention elements and work design were taken into account. One definition of task simplification is "breaking a more complex job into relatively small subparts" (Valentine, 2020, p. 122). It is critical for workers to understand their roles and responsibilities. This reduces job pressure and duplication of effort. Repeating the same work frequently is typically necessary for job simplicity, which boosts productivity and skill development. On the other hand, it also leads to "boring work situations that appeal to few people, causing higher turnover" (Valentine, 2020, p. 122). On the other hand, work rotation includes bringing some variety to simple, repetitive tasks and enables employees to switch up their duties. This position "develops an employee's capabilities for doing several jobs" (Valentine, 2020, p. 122). According to research, people who have rotated "achieve a higher performance in subsequent years as compared to other non-rotating employees in a comparable position" (Kampktter et al., 2016, para. 1). Additionally, there is a relationship between these structures and the divine economy. Being commanded to "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion" (Genesis 1:28, ESV) by God made man's task easier. the idea of planting and reaping is included into the work cycle. Ecclesiastes 3:2 of the Bible states that "there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven". A "time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot" proverb states. This verse supports the idea that people have a variety of professions throughout their lives, and that the following generation perpetuates the cycle.
